Iridium Voice Mail Set-up Instructions

1. Programming the Voicemail number into the "Envelope" option of the handset.
   • Press the Envelope button
   • It will prompt "call voicemail, select?"
   • Scroll with the left/right arrows (< or >) until "Message settings, view options?" appears
   • Press OK, "Voicemail number, select?" will appear
   • Press OK, enter the Iridium general voicemail number in this section (00. 8816. 629. 90000)
   • Press OK, a check mark with the word "completed" will appear
   • Hold on to the C button to return to the default screen, "Iridium", continue to "Call Forwarding Unavailable"
   
   
2. Activating "Call Forwarding Unavailable" to voicemail.
   • Phone has to be powered ON, registered, and have strong signal strength (2 to 3 bars at least)
   • Start from the default screen where "Iridium" appears
   • Press Menu, scroll with the left/right arrows (< or >) until "Call Related Features" appears
   • Press OK, scroll down until "Call Forwarding" appears
   • Press OK, scroll down until "Forward When Unavailable" appears
   • Press OK, "Please Wait" will then appear, wait for a while until "On" appears
   • Press OK, scroll down until "Voicemail" appears
   • Press OK, "Please Wait" will then appear, wait for a while until "Call Forward On" appears
   • "Forward When Unavailable" then appears, hold on to the C button to return to the default screen, "Iridium"

Retrieving voicemail

By default, your password is the last 7 digits of your Iridium phone number. There are three different options for retrieving voicemail.

1. Using the Envelope button on your Iridium handset.
   • Phone has to be powered ON, registered, and have strong signal strength (2 to 3 bars at least)
   • Press the Envelope button, "Call Voicemail, select" will appear
   • Press OK, this will automatically call the Iridium general voicemail number, 8816-629-90000
   • You will hear a recording saying to enter the number you're trying to reach. Enter your Iridium phone number and wait for your voicemail greeting to begin
   • Press the [*] button to interrupt the greeting, then enter you password. You will then have accessed your mailbox into the main menu
   
   
2. Dialing your Iridium phone number from your Iridium handset.
   • Phone has to be powered ON, registered, and have strong signal strength (2 to 3 bars at least)
   • Dial your phone number and wait for your voicemail greeting. (00-8816-214-xxxxx)
   • Press the [*] button to interrupt the greeting, then enter you password
   • You will then have accessed your mailbox into the main menu
   
   
3. Dialing your own Iridium phone number from a landline phone (PSTN).
   • Phone has to be powered ON, registered, and have strong signal strength (2 to 3 bars at least)
   • Dial your phone number and wait for your voicemail greeting. *note, calls from a landline phone are considered to be international long distance calls, so you need to dial 011 before you phone number (011-8816-214-xxxxx)
   • Press the [*] button to interrupt the greeting, then enter you password
   • You will then have accessed your mailbox into the main menu
