Happy Holidays to you and yours.
Thank you very much for your continued confidence in Blue Sky Network during this last year. We believe in exceptional service, no exceptions and appreciate your loyalty. Of course, we also send along our best wishes for 2007.
The Blue Sky Network Team
Polar First
On December 5, 2006 Polar First launched their second attempt to set a record for circumnavigating the globe by way of the South and North Poles. With Blue Sky Network's
D1000 flight tracking and telemetry terminal with embedded GPS, Jennifer Murray and Colin Bodill's Bell 407 helicopter will maintain constant communication with on-ground support during the 36,000-mile, 175-day trip.
Polar First crashed during the original attempt in 2003. The Blue Sky Network system and web-based SkyRouter alerted and directed emergency crews to the exact location of the crash and got them help immediately. The crew believes this solution saved their lives.
"Considering the inherent danger of a flight like this, and our own personal experience, it is a relief to know we can rely on the Blue Sky Network flight tracker to keep us in contact with our crew on the ground at all times, no matter where we are," said pilot Jennifer Murray. See our
press release and for more information on the expedition, see the
Polar First web page.
Blue Sky Network Equipment operating on Commercial Airliner, Aerorepublica
AeroRepública has chosen Blue Sky Network's equipment for installation in its entire fleet, which operate in Colombia and throughout Latin America.
The solution gives AeroRepública a complete tracking, messaging, and voice solution allowing easy communication between their aviation assets and ground control.
"We considered other products, but BSN has a cost effective solution that has really improved our operations and safety" said Eduardo Lombana, vice president of operations of AeroRepublica.
AeroRepublica is installing Blue Sky Network's ACH1000/ D1000C kits on all of its aircraft fleet, McDonnell Douglas MD-81, McDonnell Douglas MD-82, McDonnell Douglas MD-83 and McDonnell Douglas DC-9-30 aircraft. The D1000C satellite modem offers AeroRepublica two-way communications, and instant web-based tracking and position reporting. The ACH1000 advanced control head adds cockpit integrated voice capabilities as well as short code messaging to the global satellite flight tracking of the D1000C.
