ACH1000 Certified and Released

After months of waiting for the FAA to approve our application, Blue Sky Network announced the certification and availability of our ACH1000 advanced control head. The ACH1000 is a revolution in the aviation industry. Coupled with a Blue Sky D-Series flight tracking terminal the Dzus mounted control head offers new flexibility—not available before—in one unit.

For example, Iridium voice calls can be integrated with the aircraft audio panel. Pilots can choose from 10 configurable speed dial numbers, or they can dial a number directly on the 2 line LCD display, a real panel dialer. Of course, incoming calls are also available with clear audio and visual indication to the crew.

But that is not all. Integrated with our industry leading SkyRouter asset management portal, the ACH1000 allows pilots the ability to send short code messages (e.g. Diverting, Request Wx, Picking Up) and flight trip plan information to dispatchers on the ground. Dispatchers can even send free form short text messages to the pilots in the air, such as weather or new routing instructions.

Naturally the features of the D-Series terminal are preserved; ground personnel can still track the aircraft anywhere in the world directly from the SkyRouter global map display.

Please note that some D-Series terminals may need to be upgraded to function properly with the ACH1000 control head.

ExxonMobil Chooses Blue Sky Network for
Global Asset Tracking

We are very proud to announce that ExxonMobil Global Services Company has, after an extended bidding and certification process, chosen Blue Sky Network to provide asset tracking for air transportation assets all over the world. Operating in extremely remote regions, Exxon Mobil needed a way to monitor and communicate with these aviation assets anywhere and anytime. Blue Sky Network is today the only global asset tracking solution that is tailored specifically for the oil and gas industry, delivering hardware, data service, and Internet based mapping all in one package. The relationship has already commenced with aircraft being tracked in Papua New Guinea, but will rapidly expand to other regions.

The contract underlines Blue Sky Network's commitment to the oil and gas industry. We will take this selection by ExxonMobil as a verification of our strategy to bring simple, innovative and powerful new technology into the asset management arena. 2006 will be another year where we will bring new products to the market that will build on the power of the SkyRouter asset management portal, and we are excited to take you there.

GSA Contract

Blue Sky Network was recently awarded GSA contractor status. Federal agencies now can order our products and services directly from the GSA Advantage web-site, with government discounts applied. Our work to gain GSA status shows our commitment to providing solutions to the government sector, especially in the areas of forestry and emergency management services. Our GSA contract number is GS-35F-0918R.

SkyRouter Improvements
As our regular SkyRouter customers know, we continually add to and improve on features and services available on the SkyRouter asset management portal. Here are highlights of the most recent improvements:
  • ACH1000 Integration: With the launch of our ACH1000 product, we upgraded SkyRouter to make it easier to manage the settings on the new control head. Directly from your SkyRouter console, customers can manage ACH1000 profiles (speed dial, short code and flight plan settings) so that company wide standards are easy to manage. Please refer to the SkyRouter "Help" feature for instructions on ACH1000 settings.
  • Flight Time Report: The Version 2.0 of our D-Series terminal firmware allows users to set automatic take-off and landing reports from aircraft. As a result, precise flight time reporting is available. Go to the "Reports" section of your SkyRouter console and select the "Take-Off/Landing" report. Then choose the asset and the time frame to get an accurate report on aircraft flight time. You can even export the report to Excel for additional reporting options.
  • Breadcrumbs & Distance/ Bearing: When displaying breadcrumbs for an asset, this selection will now remain active even after a change in zoom level. We corrected the distance calculation error in the Distance/Bearing tool. Distance calculated should now be accurate even over long distances.

Flyaway Kits
Many customers have taken advantage of our Flyaway Kit. This is an excellent option for customers who may not have time to go through a installation and certification process, or want an asset tracking solution that can be applied to different assets at different times on short notice. The Flyaway Kit is a D-Series terminal in a hardened plastic case, including a rechargeable battery, integrated antenna connector and a single channel antenna. You can add an ACH1000 control head for voice communication and more. Please call us for more information.
