JON S. GILBERT
Founder, President & CEO, Blue Sky Network, LLC
As the founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Sky Network, Jon Gilbert provides the strategic direction for this satellite communications technology company. Blue Sky Network is a pioneer in the development of affordable, state-of-the-art, global communications for the aviation, marine, and land mobile markets.
A pilot since 1975, Mr. Gilbert holds a multi-engine instrument rating, owns and flies a Cessna 414A aircraft. At the beginning, Jon visualized the need for a complete, reasonably priced satellite communication solution targeting all general and business aviation owners and operators. He founded Blue Sky Network with the goal of combining his business experience with his passion for bringing satellite technology first to aviation and then to other remote mobile assets to exploit the opportunity to implement real world safety and operational benefits of satellite communication.
Mr. Gilbert, a CPA by profession, has an extensive business background leading several highly successful organizations. A native of Vancouver, Washington, Mr. Gilbert graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and holds a Master of Science degree in Accounting.
CARLTON VAN PUTTEN
Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Blue Sky Network, LLC
As Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Carlton van Putten is responsible for worldwide sales and marketing for Blue Sky Network. His responsibilities encompass sales and channel management, corporate communications, and product marketing activities.
In over a decade of senior management experience, Carlton has filled several senior management positions at both start-ups and multi-national corporations including COO of Maredy Corporation, President of Rivus Internet Group, and as Vice President of Marketing at Stream International and Focus Enhancements. Earlier in his career, he held several marketing and sales positions at "A-list" companies like Apple Computer, and has worked to help them develop and execute business strategies that refine their focus and capitalize on emerging market trends.
van Putten holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Business Administration from the University of California, Los Angeles.
LILLIE CHEUNG
Director of Finance and Operations, Blue Sky Network, LLC
As Director of Finance and Operations, Lillie Cheung is responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of Blue Sky Network as well as financial operations and reporting. These specific areas include human resources, contract manufacturing, GSA and FCC liaison, product and service administration. She is responsible for the development and operation of internal process and control systems as well as inventory planning. As a member of the Management group, she participates in the development of company policies and long range planning.
Lillie began her professional career in New York city in the corporate office of a national retail chain as an internal auditor. Her first financial management role was for a Swiss banking institution and she has since had similar management roles at new start-up organizations as well as mature companies. In Boston, she spent five years in operations for an international medical supply company. Along the way she also founded a successful accounting and consulting practice that provided business and financial strategy to profit and not-for-profit organizations.
Lillie earned her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Baruch College in New York City and has attended graduate courses at Lowell University in Massachusetts. While in the Boston area, she served in voluntary capacity on several community based not-for-profit organizations and was elected to the Board of Directors of Boston Main Street.
GREG FISCH
Director of Technology, Blue Sky Network, LLC
As the Director of Technology, Greg Fisch is responsible for managing the entire technology function at Blue Sky Network. This includes the maintenance of already deployed products plus the complete development of new product concepts. The responsibility also includes the operation and feature enhancements of SkyRouter, the Blue Sky Network web portal used by all customers to manage their mobile assets. Greg brings with him over 30 years of experience in electronic design, software development, physics and aviation. He has managed complex product design and development for a variety of high-tech products including CT scanners, walking robots, and an air traffic control training system utilizing speech recognition.
Greg began his career as an Electronic Engineer at the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena, California, where he developed Hybrid Circuits for space flight applications. Over the years, he has been involved in many aspects of product design and business development. He was founder and president of a venture funded company in the aviation sector. His brings a well-rounded, balanced approach to the various aspects of creating new products.
A pilot since 1980, Greg holds an instrument rating and flies both powered aircraft and gliders. He received his education in Electronic Engineering and Physics from Cal Poly Pomona and Long Beach State University.
